Each August Bank Holiday weekend something truly magical happens. Englands Medieval Festival provides the backdrop for the most memorable and romantic medieval wedding, handfasting, vow renewal or special event celebration experience set amidst the serene beauty of our festival’s enchanted grove. Surrounded by the sights, sounds, and ambiance of the Middle Ages, let the magical atmosphere transport you to a world of chivalry and romance.

Immerse yourselves in the enchanting world of medieval romance with a Handfasting (Hand Tying) ceremony at our festival.  This ancient ritual binds a couple's hands together, symbolizing their union or betrothal. Led by authentic officiants dressed in period attire, our ceremonies blend historical authenticity with personalized touches, ensuring a memorable union that honors tradition and celebrates love.  (Note that a traditional civil ceremony can be arranged for an offsite location, with the celebration at the festival)

Imagine exchanging vows amidst the timeless ambiance and atmosphere of a medieval festival. Make your Birthday, Anniversary, or Special Date truly unforgettable with a Celebration Ceremony at our festival. Create lasting memories with your loved ones as you celebrate amidst the enchanting ambiance of our festival. Whether you're marking a milestone birthday, celebrating years of love and commitment, or simply gathering with friends, our medieval festival offers a unique and enchanting setting for your special occasion. Your unforgettable celebration will be filled with joy, laughter, and the spirit of medieval merriment.

All festival guests can enjoy acres of parkland, lawns and historic woodlands, or a wander through the authentic medieval village. Jousting takes place in the royal arena and thrilling battle re-enactments all weekend.

Accommodation options vary within the festival grounds and locally in the area. For an authentic medieval experience guests can sleep under the stars in furnished glamping tents with private areas available for groups.

In the evening the full festival entertainment provides plenty of fun with character performances and lively music from popular folk bands. Our optional medieval banquet meal offers an authentic option to feast and toast the happy couple. Alternatively, guests can indulge in a delicious peasants hog roast and tankard of mead under the stars. We are happy to tailor private entertainment with anything from traditional medieval flute music and romantic stargazing to performing mummers and magical wizards.
